But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

is he a surfer fob? last time i saw him it wasn't too bad.. i guess it's because everyone in california dresses like that. i did not see the thick black framed rectangular glasses, however. it seems like an interesting look. :o)

college sound like lots of fun. haha... :) i can't believe school is starting in less than a week! waahhhh... i am so sad. no more sleeping in (actually, i haven't been doing that for a while) and no more slacking off into all hours of the night. :P i hope this year is fun. and i hope we all survive the first couple of marking periods.

i can't wait to buy new school supplies..

sigh. i am such a dork.

connie, i hope you brought your guitar.

and i would say goodbye, but... i'm actually gonna see you in less than a week. that's so weeeeeiiiiird. in a good way of course. so i should be giving a hello in advance. all of the rest of you ppl reading this blog.... go to uiuc! so then i can see you guys too. =)

this feels weird. by this time next week... i would have finished my first day of class. i thiink it'll be a monday schedule. that means engineering class at 9. my only easy class at 12. another engineering class at 1. and yet another engineering class at 3. wow. fun stuff.

i dunno if this is just me.. but... am i the only one wondering where this summer has gone? it's like.. i started work last week. and now i'm off to school again. but now that i think about it ... i suppose i did get quite a bit of stuff done, albeit i didn't get to surf or hang out really.

i think the first sign of growing up is that time doesn't feel as endless as it used to.

go-karting is cool because you can floor it and you won't flip over. :) i think it would be cool to go to a stunt driving school. either that or learn to drive stick. and no, those choices are nowhere near similar to each other. right. :)

today, i drove with all my windows open and accordian music blasting in the background. it was very exciting. :)

yeah! a day of fun! let's do it! i contribute.. mini-golfing. i don't know why.. it just popped into my head. i think because at the mini-golf course in california there are go-karts. coolness. :) but if you don't like mini-golfing, i contribute a little bit of movie club.

stephanie  //  12:04:00 PM

coach bruno, in my heart you are numero uno! hahaha ok i'm going to stop.

i'm sad because people are starting to leave for school. i've decided that we should all have a day of fun before connie leaves (i think you're the first?). give me ideas on what should be included!! so far dave contributed: risk and xbox. i say go-karting (i've been having an urge to go go-karting since i got home from taiwan).

i wished i could speak spanish at field hockey camp. then i could have been cool and spoke spanish with our hot spanish coach bruno. he's nineteen. and he's cute. and he plays field hockey really well. *sigh* how dreamy. and there was this other spanish dude there whose name was rafa and he was kind of cute, too. apparently bruno has a brother who is twentyone and even hotter than he is. he must be REALLY hot... sorry. i got sort of obsessed. :o)

anyway.

i just had senior portraits. the entire experience was rather amusing and silly. i felt silly. i put foundation all over my shoulders (just like ellen!) to try to blend in my tan lines.. haha. and the guy who was taking the pictures asked me if i was korean. do i look korean? hm, but yeah.. then we talked about the asian population in holmdel. it was kind of funny. :o)

congrats. with talking to your roomie i mean. i'll be sure to tell her to get along w/you. haha.. j/k.

and tomorrow is my last day of work!! half day of work.. yeah. time went by soo fast. and my home comp is messed up. i dunno what my parents did to it. =( i really hope i didn't lose all my files. i would be very very sad. and i just got a second hard drive with a docking bay with the intention of backing everything up!! but i never had time to install it. *sigh* i guess i prolly won't be online until it gets fixed. blah. i think i should find other stuff to do anyways...

and tomorrow, i'm getting the post-op checkup for my wisdom teeth. and hopefully... i can graduate to solid foods! not that i was eating baby food or anything...

why does everyone want to stuff me in their suitcase?? gosh.

and if anyone really wants to DL that commercial or some random stuff, you can grab it from my AIM. you know.. the whole right-click/get-file deal. let me know if there's any other amusing videos out there too. =)

and hm. i suppose i should be getting ready for school too. but i think i will refrain from buying too many school supplies. cuz.. i kinda didn't use that much last year. but, perhaps i should take notes this year. yes. i think i should.

so my dad turns 50 today. 50!! mygosh. i can't even guess where i'll be when i reach that point. and who knows what the world will be like? but something tells me that we're all gonna grow up before we know it. getting out of college, getting married, getting kids, getting a retirement package. oops. i forgot to mention work somewhere in there. =P and it's my mom's bday 2 days from now. i don't like when ppl's bdays are bunched together. i think i'll ask my parents to change their birthdays so they're more spaced out.

and ross has been married/divorced 3 times?? hm.. sorry. i never really kept up with the show. it's really sad how the divorce rate is like.. 49% or something like that.

Will  //  10:36:00 PM

hm, i just DLed it from kazaa. maybe i got lucky?

and wow, lotsa wedding talk here. at first, i thought this was from some emode or other online test. isn't there one that predicts your wedding date out there? yeah.. but then i decided it prolly wasn't that cuz that test always said you'd get married within 6 months. or something like that. so ideal age for girls to get married is 27? and connie.. weren't you married like 713641364 times already? (ok, yea. i typed in random numbers) you should take some time off before you try again. ;)

Will  //  3:39:00 PM

you can download the mtv commercial @ natalieportman.com. the server is super slow though...its taking forever for me to dl it. ahh it would be so much easier if i could just watch it on tv.

woh, zi, your roommate is from kansas? that's cool. i wonder what i would be like if i grew up in kansas. i wonder what everyone on this blog would be like if we were from kansas. haha.

speaking of weddings...connie is getting married in less than ten years!! and i'm getting married in ten years!! (ok this is all ideally speaking) that's so soon!! we're going to have families soon!! what the heck.

Ellen  //  12:10:00 PM

i called my roommate last night too! woah, connie we're like one! my roommate seems cool. she's from kansas and i've been putting off calling her. but i figured i should call since she most likely wouldn't know how to pronounce my name. and she didn't. so it was good that i called. i didn't really know what to say...do you call someone you've never met and say, "so, how are you doing?" or "what's up?" but it went ok...not too awkward.

buenos trabajador, connie! um, i dropped spanish after sophomore year, so i'm trying to say "good job" or "good work." remember back in middle school when we were first learning languages, and it was so cool to greet each other with "hola" and insulting each other in spanish, as soon as we learned the words? like..."tu es feo" or "tu es mucho gordo! hahahahahah!!!!"

derek, you could try mtv.com maybe they would have it.

aiyo, connie-ah. ni hen smaht-ah! i posted in the am, meaning early morning/late night. and serena posted in the pm, which is afternoon. hm... yes. i think that works out. pull out your calculater and double-check if you want. ;)

and i'm sooooooooo boooooooooooooooooooooooooooored. omygosh. i can't take this anymore. i'm really hungry too.

Saturday, August 10, 2002

hey, whatcha going to boston for connie? and after all this discussion about natalie and jimmy, i decided to DL the video. i must say.. he's one interesting guy.

and i'm alive still. which is good i suppose. i just don't like having gauze things stuffed into the back of my mouth. only food should be in there!

oh, and so serena apparently wasn't sure of the possible ill consequences of having wisdom teeth. guess what she said (and i do NOT take things out of context, unlike some people):

Serenie 619: so... i decided to research
Serenie 619: it doesnt grow into ur brain!
drink ORANGEtang: no way!
Serenie 619: it just .. causes crowding into your teeth

if anyone else has questions about wisdom teeth, just ask... cuz apparently, this is what "square root" is all about. =P

Friday, August 09, 2002

hey connie, so do you get free joint crackings? but anyways, i like the freedom of being able to crack my own joints. wherever, whenever i want!

ok, so i just took 11 pills in preparation for surgery. and it took me 2 glasses of water to down them all. i hope i don't pee on myself. that'd be quite embarassing. yuuup. and i'll keep you guys updated. cuz... i know you're bored enough to read about it. =D

Will  //  3:53:00 PM

Thursday, August 08, 2002

so the 2nd half of this week will have been a complete waste of time.

maybe someone should make a separate blog for wisdom teeth. like a online support group thing. sounds like a lot of people are gonna hafta get theirs out sooner or later. =P so i was thinking.. there has GOT to be an easier way to deal with wisdom teeth. there should be some type of medication that inhibits or kills the cells that promote enamel formation/development of teeth. you should be able to take that after you get all your adult teeth. or at least they can plug the holes in the gums with some sort of biodegradable material that dissolves while you heal. ah well... i can't help but feel nervous about tomorrow. i know it shouldn't be too bad and all... but i just don't like thinking about surgery. not when it's on me, anyways.

ok, so thinking about that wasn't the only thing i've done at work today. i also read some simpsons quotes. haha... brings back memories. =P and i also "attempted" to review thermodynamics. yea, there's this big fat engineering handbook and i was trying to read through it cuz i have a physics class on thermodynamics next semester. i gave up though. so note: i do NOT read about this stuff purely for the sake of enjoyment. oh, i also had an interesting IM discussion with james about cultural differences btwn taiwanese, chinese, and koreans and how it affects their education and financial success.

what can i say? another productive day at work. and i still have an hour and a half left....

somebody save me. (hey, that reminds me of smallville...)

george foreman project sounds yummy.

and so what does joaquin really mean? it doesn't mean leaf does it? i know it's a river out here in CA. it's also a county. and town. so at work, i was trying to look up stuff online about him and i must say.. his family is very interesting. or at least their names sound interesting. ok, this is what i found out:

dad's original name: john lee bottom (i can see why he wanted to change it, and his desire to give his kids cooler names); mom's name: arlyn aka heart phoenix; brother: river jude phoenix; sister1: rain joan of arc phoenix; sister2: liberty butterfly phoenix; sister3: summer joy phoenix

pretty cool huh? i think unique names make kids cool. either that or make them social outcasts. hmm...

Will  //  9:54:00 PM

no, joaquin himself used to be known as "leaf." then he didn't go by that name anymore. they have a sister named liberty, in addition to summer and rain. but his dad's name is john. oh, the irony.

Zi  //  8:41:00 PM

he has a brother named leaf? interesting. i think joaquin might be some sort of native american name or.. a river .. or something like that. anyway. phoenix is a cool last name, too.

hey, i'm on a mac right now. they crash a lot. my aunt's computer crashed five times the other day.. and the ones in the yearbook office also crashes randomly. other than that, i hear they *are* better at graphics stuff. and they look all pretty with the semi-transparent look. you know, i saw a george forman grill with the semi-transparent look. grilling in style, baby. hoo yeah! :o)

stephanie  //  2:15:00 PM

ooh nice. nothing like a good ol' wisdom teeth pulling to come home to.

i think i'm gonna watch signs on thursday with the really old young adult group at my church... hm, ok.. they're not that old. and someone i know claimed it to be the best movie of the year so far. but i'm skeptical. there's too many movies i wanted to see, but haven't gotten a chance to see. i reaaally wanted to see minority report. and austin powers. and i think i'll steal lilo&stitch, which my brother DLed, before i leave for school. that's like 2 weeks! (!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

and i truly have nothing to do at work for the rest of the week. again. i think i work too hard and too fast. ha ha. i'm kidding of course. but don't go around thinking i'm a total slacker at work either. =P i really am done with all my stuff. i think the ppl here were too much in a hurry to rush off into their vacations that they didn't feel like worrying about giving me stuff to do. ah well, this is what blogger is for.

so i was doing some work on a mac... and now i want one. macs are pretty... much nicer looking than pc's. why are pcs so ugly?? and macs are better at video-editing and graphics stuff. so maybe i'll get one if i get enough money.

anyways... enough of this rambling.

and i really should stop eating jelly beans. i'm feeling quite sick...

Will  //  1:15:00 PM

hi emily. wowie.. you have the first semi-positive comment about getting wisdom teeth removed. and i'm sorry.. i have such a horrible memory. i didn't even remember when you got yours out...even tho it was only a couple months ago.. =P

and i think there's been 10 posts about wisdom teeth. hehe... this could be an orthodontal forum.

and... yeah... my appointment is at 1 on friday. AAAHHH! ok, um anyways. i hope it doesn't hurt. too much.

Will  //  1:12:00 AM

Tuesday, August 06, 2002

waaah, no more no more. i feel bad for will and all of us in the future who are going to have their wisdom teeth removed. which includes me. aaaahhh. :oP

joaquin is indeed very cool. he had a brother named river and has a sister named rain. cool! and he was hilarious in signs. i should watch inventing the abbotts. he was in that, right? i saw it in my aunt's house the other day. he's got a funny scar on his filtrum. or philtrum. i forget how you spell it.. but it's that indentation under your nose above your lip. hahaha. i am the master of useless trivia. no, wait, i don't know enough to be the master. i'm more like.. a paduin (sp?). aaahahahaha. i crack myself up. =)

stephanie  //  6:36:00 PM

two of my friends got their wisdom teeth out in the same week this summer. one did ok because he had narcotics, the other one didn't because she wasn't allowed to have pain killers. both lost ten pounds during their recovery or whatever, but they ate lots of chocolate mousse. i heard the second night is really bad. i wanted to get my wisdom teeth out before prom, so i could lose some weight. ...how sick am i? will you could eat a lot of jello cups.

Ellen  //  10:29:00 AM

Monday, August 05, 2002

ugh, that is gross. but i will refrain from saying anything about wisdom teeth removals due to the fact that almost everything i hear about them involves a lot of pain. darn, i probably shouldn't have said that. sorry, will! but don't worry about it. the entire process ends eventually and then you'll be glad it's over. because then, you can describe to others who have not yet had their wisdom teeth removed how it is analogous to giving birth orally. kind of like a warped form of revenge, no? hehehe. :)

stephanie  //  7:13:00 PM

hi ellie. bored at work? =P haven't heard from you in a while.

hm, barely anyone's gonna be in the office this week... and.. some of the equipment i ordered for this lab test thing i'm doing isn't here yet... so i'm gonna be sitting around doing nothing. fun stuff. so i'm just sitting here, eating a handful of jellybeans. yup.. i think instead of collecting snapple bottlecaps at work, i am now trying out different combinations of jellybean flavors and seeing which ones are the best. pink, green, and black are nasty together (bubblegum, mint, and licorice). ok, i'm usually not this unproductive. it's just that nobody leaves me with enough stuff to do before they take off for vacations/business trips.

and i'm becoming overly conscious of the back area of my mouth. the possibility of getting my wisdom teeth removed is making me imagine the pain i might feel. ugh. so someone please tell me that it's not that bad. cuz someone brought up an analogy of "giving birth orally." gross.

Will  //  4:05:00 PM

hahahaha..

i have somehow managed to not understand the majority of the previous blogs. but that's okay. :o)

i need to see this guy at b&n. he's becoming famous here. he must be really hot. remember when we said that we should make our kids snowboard/surf so they'd end up being hot? yeah, i still stand by that. surfers and snowboarders seem to be very goodlooking on a regular basis. it is a strange phenomenon.

i saw amelie. everybody go see it NOW. or sometime soon. sigh. it was good. really good. go watch! =)

stephanie  //  2:57:00 PM

hm.. did i miss something? what's with the bodyguard? connie, stop getting into trouble with boys. ;)

and oh my gosh. you guys (serena and connie) are dorks. that was... taken out of context. sorta. gosh... you stink.

in other news, i think i might get my wisdom teeth pulled this friday. =\ i do NOT like ppl cutting at me. and i'm not gonna like having holes in my gums. ugh. this is not gonna be any fun at all. stinkiness, stinkiness.

ok. i know.. this is sad. but it's the only form of enjoyment/amusement i've gotten this whole summer.

and i heard i missed out on a lot of felly fun. darn. =\

hehe...everyone blogs while at work.

ellie i read your blog here. and i read your blog @ derks. and i read your comment on my xanga. and i listened to your message on my voice mail. teehee. my mom was the one who first listened to it, but she couldn't understand it (i think you were on your cell phone?) so she kept repeating it like five times. so in my room, i'm reading on my bed, when suddenly i start hearing ellie's voice. over and over. =D

i just downloaded a few episodes of the osbournes. this may be a little outdated, but the show is genius! its great. hehe. ozzie: "i feel ignored again." kelly & sharon: "oh shut up." haha.

will what do your glasses look like? are they artsy fartsy fob ones? i was going to get artsy fartsy glasses in taiwan but decided on the frameless ones.

steph..super hot guy kind of looked surferish. he had really closely cut hair (kind of like jack johnson-y). come to think of it, he looked a little bit like him. and jack johnson used to surf. so i guess super hot guy did look surferish.

Ellen  //  4:31:00 PM

connie, what'd you change on the blog? and there were NOT any errors in my coding, thank you very much. i think the posting bug is just some random thing. i was reading the troubleshooting stuff in the discussion board and i guess it happens to other ppl's blogs randomly too. um, yup.

oh, and i got my new glasses.

and i got the rest of the day to waste. woohoo, half days. =) and yes, steph.. you should get back to work. HAHAHA >=D

i meant that in the nicest way possible.... cuz, i'm nice.

Will  //  3:50:00 PM

I HAVE NOT SEEN BRAVEHEART. thank you for broadcasting that, ellen. hee hee :o) i have not seen a lot of movies, thank you very much. so there. =)

hey.. is this hot guy at barnes and noble kind of surfer-ish?? janet told me a hot guy worked there. he couldn't find the book she was looking for and it was right in front of him. haha.. but the hotness makes up for it. i need to see him. :)

uh oh, gotta go. time go get back to work.

Thursday, August 01, 2002

wow, i haven't seen this much activity on this blog in quite some time. maybe cuz it's really really good looking now. ;) j/k j/k. i hope i didn't just jinx it by saying that.

and i'm taking a break from work right now. a short break, i promise.

and i haven't seen braveheart yet... which some friends at school have deemed as "one of the movies you had to have seen, if you're a guy." i think shawshank redemption was another one on the list. and... i haven't seen either...which leads to only one logical conclusion.... that list is wrong. =)

oh, and i just hafta say one more thing...

OK, WHO'S GONE AND BROKEN BLOGGER??

Will  //  5:25:00 PM

STEPH HAS NOT SEEN BRAVEHEART. ok i had to share that. go watch it steph. go go go.

amelie is like a fairy tale. a french fairy tale that seems a little weird but it has a really cool soundtrack. anyway you should see it. i saw the dvd at b&n today and i was so tempted to buy it -- until i saw that it was freakin massively expensive. i don't think derek will like it but i think he will say, "i like the way its filmed" or something like whatever he said to moulin rouge.

in other news, i saw goldmember today! i'm proud to say that my friends and i were the loudest in the theatre. then again all the other people there were senior citizens. and i'm really immature. also, i saw the super hot guy at barnes & noble again (i bought "the lonelineness of a long distance runner") -- last time michelle and i made a ruckus at the checkout counter ("EW VIN DIESEL IS SO HIDEOUS LOOK AT THIS MAGAZINE COVER") in front of super hot guy and he laughed and joked around with us. i am in love.

i don't like scary movies.

Ellen  //  4:36:00 PM

weeeirrd. i never knew you could do that.

anyways. no, the prison guys aren't gay. haha.. i guess my description did seem kind of sketchy. clive owen falls in love with a girl named primrose. and she's not in prison. it's a good movie! i swear! :)

yeah, we should have a movie club and get fat. we can watch tons of scary movies and get all freaked out and stuff. actually, i hate watching scary movies. unless it's sixth-sense-scary. most scary movies end up being really stupid.. like that wave of teen horror flicks (ie i know what you did last summer). but movies like silence of the lambs and primal fear (crap, those movies were scary) are good.. in a very eerie way. haha. and i have not seen alcatraz. serena, you are one up on me. :)
